Looking for something different to do with your K9 this weekend?

Start off the morning with a beautiful hike to Monrovia Canyon Falls.

Take the I-210 Foothill Freeway driving through Monrovia and exit at Myrtle Avenue and turn north (toward the mountains). Drive north on Myrtle through Old Town Monrovia one mile to Foothill Blvd. Turn right and go two lights to Canyon Blvd. Turn left, drive through residential area for about 0.7 mile to Scenic Dr. and follow Canyon Blvd as it curves to the right. In another 0.3 mile, turn right into Canyon Park and go to the park entry station where you will pay a $5 dollar parking fee.

This is an amazing hike that you and your K9 will fall in love with. Make sure to head out early, as this trail gets crowded quickly. The park opens at 8am.

The trail will take you past several beautiful oak, maple and sycamore trees. You will also notice the wonderful scent of sage around you. The trail concludes with the spectacular 30-foot Monrovia Canyon Fall.

After you’ve completed this 3.4-mile round trip hike, most likely you and your furry friend have worked up an appetite. But not to worry because K9TailsLA has just the right spot for you and its called  “Sunday’s Old Town Bistro”, located on 520 S. Myrtle Ave in Old Town Monrovia.

Sunday’s Old Town Bistro opened three months ago and one of our their 1st customers was Jen Haven and her Dog “Bicycle.” Then came Bhodi, Frisco, Fred and Cleo the Cat… not to mention many – many more pooches and kitties. Sunday Loft (Owner/Operator) grew up in Monrovia and was a waitress for 25 years at a handful of restaurants in her beloved city before finally opening her own little place. She has always embraced the Animal Loving Community and that is why she put a “Pup-Peroni” Hot Dog (Hot Dog wrapped in Pepperoni), on her Menu along with other doggie treats.

Her little Bistro has fresh water for dogs on the go in front of the restaurant and also on the back patio, which allows dogs, cats, etc. to quietly sit with their owners and enjoy the fun-family atmosphere Sunday has created.

We recommend the Eggs Benedict or the breakfast Crepes. Also, check out the bistro for lunch and dinner.
